Karen Tanenbaum


Karen Tanenbaum is a PhD candidate at the School for Interactive Arts & Technology (SIAT) at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia, Canada.

My research interests include artificial intelligence, ubiquitous computing, tangible computing, interaction design, and design philosophy. My dissertation research is on adaptivity in ubiquitous and tangible systems. I am currently working on user studies and data analysis for my dissertation.

I am currently working with my husband, fellow PhD student Josh Tanenbaum on The Reading Glove, part of the TUNE project.
